Ownership story
Acquired by Caseproof (MemberPress) on February 22, 2023, the first of its three membership-plugin purchases; Blair Williams wrote "I'm not combining MemberMouse and MemberPress." Kept as the enterprise brand. Part of the WPBeginner Growth Accelerator.

About

The "enterprise" WordPress membership plugin: upsell chains, downsells, the deepest reporting suite in the category, six payment gateways, and a real member import wizard. No community of its own (bbPress or BuddyPress, protected by level). From $149.50 in year one, renewing at $299. Owned by Caseproof since February 2023.

Information

What MemberMouse actually is

MemberMouse is the WordPress membership plugin that was built for people who think in funnels. Upsell chains, one-click downsells, "save the sale" pages, A/B pricing, limited payment plans, overdue payment recovery, lifetime-value reports by traffic source. Its own pricing page says it's "often mistaken to be an online service rather than a plugin," and that's a fair description of the feel: it runs the whole checkout and account experience on dynamic pages it generates, not on templates you build.

It's on this site for one reason. It's one of the four membership plugins Caseproof now owns, and if you're choosing a WordPress paywall today you'll meet it next to MemberPress and WishList Member on three pricing pages that share a template. Here's what's behind this one.

We checked membermouse.com and its knowledge base on November 2, 2026.

Pricing: three plans, one fine-print sentence

Plan Year one Renews at Active member cap What it adds
Basic $149.50 $299 "Unlimited" Stripe, Courses, 7 email integrations, Zapier, 1-click upsells, drip, coupons, gifting, standard reporting
Plus $249.50 $499 5,000 PayPal, Braintree, social login, quizzes and certificates, email support
Pro $349.50 $699 50,000 Authorize.net, ClickBank, billing-date management, full reporting and analytics suite, advanced affiliate settings, employee access control, priority support

"Special introductory pricing, all annual renewals are at full price." That sentence sits under the plans here, on wishlistmember.com and on memberpress.com. It's the same owner and the same template. The honest numbers are the struck-through ones: $299, $499, $699.

One thing on the page we can't explain: Basic shows "Unlimited" active members while Plus shows 5,000 and Pro 50,000. Either the cheapest plan has no cap and the pricier ones do, or the page is wrong. Ask before you rely on it.

No transaction fees on any plan. 14-day money-back guarantee, no trial.

Payments

Stripe on every plan. PayPal and Braintree from Plus. Authorize.net and ClickBank on Pro, plus Sticky.io. Multiple payment options at checkout, international currencies, free and paid trials, limited payment plans, prorated upgrades. This is the part MemberMouse was built around, and it shows.

Community: not in the box

MemberMouse has no feed, groups, DMs or directory of its own. The knowledge base gives you three routes: a bbPress extension that protects forums by membership level or bundle, with a redirect for people who don't qualify; a BuddyPress walkthrough for profiles, activity streams and groups, with MemberMouse selling access to them; and a note that wpForo and SimplePress work too. "Groups for MemberMouse" is not a community feature, despite the name. It's a free, open-source, third-party add-on for selling seats to a company so one buyer pays and their people join, and MemberMouse's own support team says it can't help you with it.

So: a forum you install, protected by the paywall. No gamification. No events.

Courses

Courses for MemberMouse is included on every current plan, with modules, lessons and progress tracking, built in the Gutenberg editor. Quizzes and certificates need Plus or above. The pricing page also lists LearnDash, Thrive Apprentice and WP Courseware as supported integrations if you want a heavier LMS behind the paywall.

Email

Transactional and triggered: welcome emails by membership level, emails fired by account events (cancelled, overdue, upgraded), PDF receipts, and "push notifications" that are MemberMouse's name for sending data to external services when something happens. No broadcasts, no sequences. Seven native email integrations on every plan: ActiveCampaign, Drip, Mailchimp, Kit, iContact, GetResponse, AWeber. Our email field says "none" for marketing email; the ESP sync is native.

Getting members in and out

In: the Import Wizard. A CSV template that imports members, their account details and their access rights, and that doubles as a bulk editor: re-import a file with only the changed fields filled in and it updates those accounts. There's a separate article on migrating from another membership site. This is a real importer, on every plan.

Out: Manage Members, filter however you like, click Export Members, get a CSV with the member fields. Transactions export separately. It's WordPress, so a database backup takes everything.

Courses in: rebuild in the Courses editor. No importer.

Where it fits

MemberMouse is for a membership business that lives on checkout math: upsells, downsells, trials, payment plans and the reports to tune them. Caseproof's own description, written when it bought AccessAlly, is "enterprise-grade" for "large-scale membership sites." Read that as the lane it's been assigned. If you want a community, MemberPress now ships one and MemberMouse doesn't. If you want the best-reported checkout on WordPress and you'll run your community in bbPress or elsewhere, this is still the strongest option in the family.

Known limitation

No native community: forums come from bbPress, BuddyPress, wpForo or SimplePress, protected by level. Introductory prices ($149.50 / $249.50 / $349.50) double at renewal ($299 / $499 / $699). Quizzes and certificates need Plus. PayPal needs Plus; Authorize.net needs Pro. No broadcast email, no gamification, no events, no app. The member-cap column on the pricing page contradicts itself.
